We Push Stuff

This YouTube video is pure genius! It's been on my favorites list for a few years now, and it makes me smile every time I watch. I have met both of these men on tour and both went to the Vancouver and Sochi Olympics. They're great competitors and have been very successful. Here's a behind the scenes interview with them about why they made the video and the struggles we all face to find funding as Olympic athletes. It's the same for every country. Bobsled is an expensive sport with competitions held in ski resort towns across the world, so we're all on the lookout for sponsors or creative ways to find funding. If you have an brilliant ideas, please don't hesitate to share. I need all the help I can get. And if that didn't make you smile, just watch this 80's inspired training montage the Canadian guys put together a few years back. I crack up every time. This post is dedicated to my ridiculously awesome, super supportive family and friends. My support team is unreal when I stop and think about you all. I just wanted to take some time to share with everyone how great they are. I don't know if anyone outside my family will read this. If you're a member of Team Vogt, just pat yourself on the back and know how much I love you. You know who you are. You don't even have to read past this. Have a great day and keep being awesome. First, humongous hugs and thanks to my amazing parents!!!!! Words can't express how much their love and support mean to me. They're always cheering me on, giving me pep talks when I need them and praying for me. They were able to come to Lake Placid this season and cheer me on during my first World Cup race. They also came to Park City again this year to watch my 2nd World Cup race. And they bundled up and flew to Whistler for my last World Cup race of the season. So fun! I am so grateful and ex

November - The Grand Canadian Adventure

Welcome to the week! Morning workout Monday was tough today. My legs were still shaking after 2nd breakfast, getting ready, and the 30 minute drive to work. Nothing like trying to blow dry your hair and put on eyeliner when you're in a hurry and all you're body just wants to sit down and rest. No time for that! Suck it up buttercup! You've got to get to work! That's the pep talk I give myself after morning workouts when all I want to do is go back to sleep. All those workouts are for a reason, and they're going to make me better.  So I thought I'd talk today about my grand Canadian adventure. We were in Canada for almost the entire month of November. This is the second time in the past 5 years I've spent a month abroad and over a major US holiday. I found myself in Whistler for Thanksgiving on both occasions. Last time we had Mongolian BBQ followed the next day by pumpkin pie because we were too tired to cook. Good times and great memories with awesome peo
