BIG NEWS FLASH (If I could make this blink to really get your attention, I would) Kellen and I have heard back from Pat, and we're going to Salt Lake City to go for a ride! Wahoo!!!! I'm so excited!!!! I haven't stopped smiling since Kellen called me on Friday with the news. You can ask Kat., I do a little dance and go into sing-song mode every time I talk about it. We just booked our tickets, and we're headed out right after the first of the year. The third member of our Midwest, rower clan has just moved to Salt Lake City. So excited for you Duffy! She'll be right there with us for this crazy, cool experience. I can't wait! We'll have 2 full days to slide, and I'm sure we'll find something else to do while we're there. I'm positive this will rank up there with one of the greatest vacations ever, just like the last trip! On another awesome weekend trip note, Dad and I are going to a Bobsled & Skeleton World Cup event in December at U

I can just hear your brain thinking, "What sport will she talk about this week? I'm so excited to read that I can hardly contain myself!" Because, I know that's what you all must be thinking, however many of you there are. So, to end your suspense, I will tell you that the sport of the week is... Figure Skating (The picture for this week is of Katy, and as I have not asked permission to use her pictures yet, you'll just have to imagine how funny it was trying to catch her in a ice skating pose. FYI: She didn't even attempt this move. We might have had to rush to the emergency room if she ever made it into this pose.) As had become my custom, let's delve into the history of the sport. Ice skating has a history dating back thousands of years. Figure skating has developed from a practical way to get around on ice into the elegant mix of art and sport it is today. The Dutch were arguably the earliest pioneers of skating. They began using canals to maint

Wow! What a crazy two weeks it's been since I posted last. Let's see if I can remember it all to recap. Monday: Zoom was good. I switched to Mondays because C3 moved to Thursdays. We'll get to that a few days down the list. I am shocked at my swift progress. My running form is so improved in the 4 weeks since I started that I can now run 1.5 miles faster. That treadmill can go up to 9.5 mph now without me flying off into space. I'm pretty impressed with myself. That is until he told me that Olympic sprinters are usually running on this treadmill at 23-27 mph. What?!? That's ridiculous! I'm not even running half as fast as them. I mean, I knew I wasn't going to the World Championships anytime soon, but not even half? They'd be done with a whole lap, in the time it would take me to run half. Ridiculous. I felt a lot like Rich Eisen did in this video. Micah showed this to be this last year, and it makes me laugh every time. Thanks Mic! Tuesday: GLOW
