Peace Be The Journey

This day has been one of reflection for me. It started last night and continued today. What is it about starting a new calendar that makes us stop and think? The sun will rise tomorrow just like the beginning of every other day, but seeing January 1st on the calendar makes us believe we can start fresh. Last night I read a great blog post by one of my favorite photographers, Me Ra Koh, that started me on this reflective journey today. She wrote: "What did 2013 give you? Where did you find yourself unexpectedly? What challenges did you embrace, and what challenges did you walk away from? What new loves did you discover? What puzzles did you solve? You broke incredible ground this year. That is the strength, wisdom and testimony you bring into the new year. If you think you've had some crazy travel experiences lately, let's meet somewhere and swap stories over a meal because it would probably take that long for me to tell you everything that's happened so far this season. It's been a wild ride (literally). I don't plan on driving sleds to Calgary again anytime soon, if ever. It's another long one with lots of video and pictures. Sorry I kept everyone waiting so long. Let's start this saga from the beginning. Most of the brakeman we normally slide with on America's Cup were chosen to go with the World Cup pilots for two weeks of international training in Sochi. This meant we had to come up with new brakeman to be able to compete in Calgary America's Cup. As soon as I found out, I started trying to recruit an adventurous girl who would come to Canada and jump into my sled without any previous experience. I've just finished watching the movie Julie & Julia, which I happen to thoroughly enjoy every time I watch it. What's not to love? Three of my favorite topics. Food/Cooking. Dreaming big.
