Xtreme
No other huge announcements. Just me being me the rest of this week. I'm heading into Zoom tomorrow for the beginning of my serious preparation time. I'm looking forward to getting faster and stronger. (I say that now before the major pain sets in. I may change my mind tomorrow.)
I finally finished one of my videos from my combine trip to Utah last summer. I just want to preface this home movie with a word of warning. I am no cinematographer. I just wanted to capture my weekend, and I enjoyed putting this together.
After the combine, we headed up the mountain to Park City and Utah Olympic Park. Kellen, Duffy, and I had some time before our push track session, so we were able to ride the Xtreme zipline. We even talked Kellen's mom, Alandra, into joining us. It was so much fun, and we met three hilarious ladies in line. I hope I'm that feisty when I get to be their age and that I have my friends along for the journey.
One Epic Weekend in Utah Part 3: Xtreme
I'll wrap up this post with a plug for the new movie Soul Surfer. The film is based on the true story of Bethany Hamilton. You could Google her to read more about the story of the real girl that lost her arm to a shark in an accident. She has impacted so many people's lives with her courage and bravery. There is a quote at the end of the movie that really drives home her positive outlook on life. When asked by a reporter if she could go back and not surf the day of the attack, Bethany answered, "Why would I change an event that has allowed me to embrace more people than I ever could with two arms?" Katy and I went to see it this weekend, and it's definitely a film the entire family would enjoy. If you're going to spend movie at the theater, go support this film that very real and uplifting. You can hear an interview with Bethany on the I Am Second website. So inspiring!
