The Rookie

Well, this month has been crazy as predicted. I'm currently on yet another plane and loving every minute of my adventurous life. Sorry I've been so long in posting. I just haven't sat down to write in awhile. But sitting here I decided a short post is better than none at all. A lot has happened in just a few short weeks. My big, huge, colossally exciting news is that I got invited to rookie camp! Me. Kansas girl Nicole got invited to a US national team camp. SO EXCITED!!! September 1st I'm headed off to learn all about bobsledding and push starts in Lake Placid, New York. I've never been to NY, so this whole trip will be a new experience. To be honest, I really didn't expect to hear anything this summer since I didn't score 600 points at the combine. But there I was sitting in my cubicle at the end of a long day getting ready for the weekend when the good news arrived. At precisely 4:23 on July 14, the most wonderful email popped into my inbox inviting me into the great unknown. I'm so excited! I have this huge, silly grin on my face right now just thinking about it. I ran outside and called my mom right away. I'm sure I looked like a crazy person at work jumping around and talking very animated. Mom was hooping and hollering and doing the same thing on the other end. Greatness! I love that my family is as excited as I am about this. Love you guys and thanks for all your support! I'll go into more detail later, but I had to share my big news. Training hard and looking forward to September!
