Peace Be The Journey

I can't believe I've already been back to real life for over a month now. How time flies. Sorry I haven't kept you all up on my latest happenings. I've been questioned by several people about what I'm up to and what my plans are for the future. So, here it is in a nutshell: I am back in Texas. I definitely plan on heading back to Lake Placid in the fall. I'm back at my engineering firm, back training hard at Zoom, back at my church, and back to my real life. Basically, things are exactly back to where they were last year at this time. Except that I've had an amazing winter of bobsled adventures all over the place. I know that isn't much to go on for now, but that's all I've got time for. I figured it was better than the nothing I've been telling you. Well, my crash count has climbed significantly since the start of driving school. I am now up to 6 as a brakeman and 5 as a driver this year. That first week was brutal from Start 4. I just couldn't get Curve 18 down. We rolled every other day, but now I've got it down (I think). I haven't crashed there since. Last Monday we moved up to Start 3. I will admit that it was scary. My only run from Start 3 before Christmas was a crash out of Curve 10. I was super nervous, and I'm glad the boys are in school with me. They are always really chill about sliding, so I don't get as nervous. They definitely keep me calm with their ridiculous banter in the start house. Check out these hobos. Thanks for letting me steal another great picture Lucas! What a whirlwind 3 weeks it has been! So much has happened! Team USA cleaned up on home ice during World Championships, and it was a blast being here to see it all and be a part of it. I started driving school this week. We've already had a dropout. And I turned 25. Whew! So much to talk about. I started this post last weekend, but this week has been so crazy I never got it finished. So I've decided to add on and finally post. Sorry to keep you all in suspense. First we'll tackle Worlds. Crazy fun! It was so much fun forerunning because you get to slide in the World Champs atmosphere without any pressure whatsoever. We were just there to make it down the track and clear the ice. I can't remember if I've explained what forerunning means, so I'll review just in case.
