What a weekend! My rowing girls were down here in Texas competing in the Longhorn Invitational. I drove down to Austin to watch a race from the bridge and cheer on my Cats. They'd only been on the water for 5 days before their first race, so they had some catching up to do. I hadn't realized how much I missed just hanging out with all my friends on trips. It was great to chat and spend time with everyone. Telling my bobsledding stories... Potential crashes draw some good looks. Miss seeing these girls everyday!  I finally got to experience some of Austin outside of racing and curfews. I had dinner at Art's Rib House one evening with my girl Christa Bowman and her family. There was a folk band playing right behind us. One of the guys was an amazing accordion player. I don't know if I will ever forget her mom singing "Squeeze Box" by The Who. FUNNY!!! I was laughing hysterically. The brontosaurus sized ribs I had were great. We headed down to 6th Street...

So much for keeping those New Year's resolutions... I missed last Sunday for this post. My grandma reads this blog regularly. She kept telling me I haven't posted anything since February 2nd. Now, I'm sitting here in her hospital room writing. She's asking me what I'm going to talk about this week. I told her it's finally time to get back to a sports post. It's been a long time, but this is the week. Well, it's been three weeks since I wrote that first paragraph. The wireless internet at the hospital was not working with me, so I just decided to wait for a less frustrating time to write. It's no fun trying to write with continual interruptions. I have no excuses for the other weekends I missed other then life got busy and I didn't take time to write. (PS. Grandma is now fully recovered and living it up at home. Didn't want you fretting over her through the rest of the post.) So without any further ado, the sport of the week is... ICE HOCK...

It's been quite a January! Let me just do a recap of this first month of 2011. I was in Kansas for New Years, came back to Texas, was in an car accident (which wasn't my fault and everyone's alright), went to Utah, had my first ride in a bobsled, bought my first car, and took my first trip to Las Vegas. Like I said, quite a month! What a way to start out the 2011. I guess I should start this out with one of my New Year's resolutions. I am going to get back to regularly posting this blog once a week. I really do enjoy writing, and I like to hear what you all have to say about my life. I've never thought of myself as a particularly interesting person, but I've gotten that comment quite a few times over the last few months. Another one of my resolutions that goes hand in hand is to be purposeful with my time. Living intentionally. I found that I waste a lot of time doing absolutely nothing of importance. I don't consider this blog under that category, so her...
