I really enjoy Sunday afternoons. I get to go to church, make some lunch, and just chill. It's great! Many a Sunday afternoon, I do some baking (and a cheer goes up from AOS!) The guys at work really like it when I get the urge to bake. I always take most of it to the office because goodness knows Katy and I should not be eating it all (although we really want to). Today is one such "Bake 'n Blog" Sunday afternoon, as I've coined it. This is not to be confused with a "bacon blog," although I'd be really interested to read what they have to say. Bacon is one of those amazing foods that makes all the food it touches taste better. Jim Gaffigan and I are of the same train of thought when it comes to bacon. I was often like that dog in those Beggin' Strips commercials that runs around and yells, "Bacon! Bacon! Bacon!" in the dining center at college. Okay, I never ran around and yelled bacon, but I really wanted to. Between Kris, Kylie,...

I WILL. That's a really strong statement both for life and sports if you'll take it seriously. I said it a lot to myself this past week in combine training. I WILL finish these reps. I WILL give all I've got. I WILL complete everything I start. I WILL perform with excellence. I WILL do this without complaining. I WILL learn and get better. I WILL push myself to new limits. I WILL be the best I can possibly be. I WILL demand perfection. I WILL. I'm not saying I looked anything like these amazing athletes, but I sure worked hard at Zoom this past week. My sprint workout was really good. I'm loving those flat treadmill sprints at the end! I just feel so fast. Then I did a lunge matrix, following by this crazy circuit. Overhead med ball slams, weight sled push, ropes, box jumps and quick steps. I didn't have quite as weight on my sled as Michael did in the video, but it was plenty. Pushing a heavily weighted sled on fake grass is not easy, let me assure you. He...

BIG NEWS FLASH (If I could make this blink to really get your attention, I would) Kellen and I have heard back from Pat, and we're going to Salt Lake City to go for a ride! Wahoo!!!! I'm so excited!!!! I haven't stopped smiling since Kellen called me on Friday with the news. You can ask Kat., I do a little dance and go into sing-song mode every time I talk about it. We just booked our tickets, and we're headed out right after the first of the year. The third member of our Midwest, rower clan has just moved to Salt Lake City. So excited for you Duffy! She'll be right there with us for this crazy, cool experience. I can't wait! We'll have 2 full days to slide, and I'm sure we'll find something else to do while we're there. I'm positive this will rank up there with one of the greatest vacations ever, just like the last trip! On another awesome weekend trip note, Dad and I are going to a Bobsled & Skeleton World Cup event in December at U...
